DOCTORAL PROGRAMM AT A GLANCE 

The Doctoral Programme focuses study in several areas of concern to CEPT - in the field of developed and natural environment for the human society. The premiss lies in the fact that CEPT University offers opportunity to address, through study and research, a wide range of environmental and social issues. From Design to Urbanism, from Facilitation to Management, from Technology to Quality of life and several other inter connected aspects of society. The key features of the programme are as follows: 

• The admission is based on the performance in written entrance examination and personal interview.  
• The programme duration is three years. The coursework on Research Methodology and a Minor are spread over three semesters. This is to take advantage of simultaneous learning process and to test the comprehension and understanding of Research Methodology.
• The Major area of Research is for a period of three years from the time of commencement.
• The course on Research Methodology is to be supported by coursework, seminars, lectures and workshops.
• The progress of a student is formally reviewed at three intermediate stages, before the final defense of the student’s doctoral work.
• At the end of each stage a student is required to appear for a Review before the Student Advisory Committee. The reviews are designed to monitor the progress and assimilation of Research Methodology.
• A student is permitted to go to the next stage (module) / (semester) only after satisfactory performance at the semester and review.
• Upon satisfactory completion (as certified by his/her Student Advisory Committee which reviews the work and progress of the student for three years) of all modules and the dissertation, the student is permitted to defend the entire doctoral work including the dissertation before a panel of experts which will include two external experts besides the members of SAC.
• A Student Advisory Committee is specifically constituted for each student immediately after admission to advise and monitor the progress of each student.
